House Insurance

House Insurance

House Insurance – Protection for the place where you should feel safest.  It is only natural that you would want to protect your home from disaster or any other problem. You can imagine that you work whole your life and buy a house but don’t insure it. One day a theft or fire destroys your house or contents and your cashflow isn’t up to the task. What now?

The cost of house owners insurance usually depends on how much it would cost insurance company to replace damaged property. Insurance policy could be either a long-term or a short-term contract it depends from what kind of insurance policy you are looking for. House insurance policy is usually seen as a long-term contract. Your insurer usually outlines in the contract what will be covered by insurance company and what will not be covered by them.

Types of House Insurance Policies

  • Comprehensive – This type of house insurance is very broad and well-known. Comprehensive house policy usually covers both the house itself and the all of its contents. There are some exclusion that insurance policy doesn’t cover. These exclusions are outlined in the excluded cover section of your policy.
  • Basic/Named Perils – In this type of cover you will have a special list that will tell you what your policy is going to cover. Only those perils specified are covered.
  • Broad – Broad home insurance policies represent a mix of comprehensive and named perils policies, taking the best of both worlds. While being priced more attractively than comprehensive policies, broad home insurance offers comprehensive coverage on the building listed in the policy. However, when it comes to covering the contents of the house, broad policies are similar to named perils products, because they will only cover your belongings against the perils mentioned in the policy.
  • No Frills - No frills home insurance policies are usually provided by insurance providers to houses that don’t meet the strict requirements of physical conditions listed by the company. This form of home insurance is usually the cheapest one, having the broadest limitations on coverage, and is typically offered to houses that have specific physical problems. No frills home insurance comes with a low price tag but still offers the minimum insurance coverage that will definitely be useful while you’re fixing the problems. When the condition of the house improves, you can opt for another form of home insurance with broader coverage options.

Is house insurance policy important?

The benefits that you can get from house insurance policy are:

  1. Having house policy insurance will cut back the level of stress that you have to deal with when it comes to the conditions of your house.
  2. One of the biggest house policy insurance benefits is that your investment will be protected.
  3. You can get a good house insurance policy for a low monthly premium.
  4. You don’t need to deal with stress and invest money in fixing house when house insurance policy will do it for you.
  5. Usually the house insurance policy is not that expensive than other insurance policies.

Horse Insurance

Insurance – is a policy that is designed to make sure that you are no worse off after an accident or disaster than you were beforehand. Certain insurance is a legal requiremnt such as car insurance.  Other things like pet insurance  are a choice. Usually there are two different kinds of insurances “Life insurance” and “General insurance”.
Insurance protects you or something that you have insured against unexpected things that could happen. It helps to cover cost of unplanned or unexpected accidents of insured person or item that is insured.

Most common insurances that are purchased are:

Health Insurance – this type of insurance will cover you from unexpected medical bills and will annual checkups.

Life Insurance – this type of insurance protects you or your family member that is insured from death.

Car Insurance – this type of insurance protects your car from accidents. You need this insurance to drive your vehicle on a road.

Equestrian Insurance – this type of insurance is protecting horse and rider and also trailer where the horse is transported.

Types of horse insurance:

Third party – this type of insurance protects you from all kind of damage or injury caused to a third party by your horse. (For example if your horse goes to a road and causes a car accident, or your horse damages someone or someone’s property then your insurance will cover all financial costs.)

Personal injury – this type of insurance protects you from any accident(s) cause to you by your horse. (For example you go horse riding and you feel own your horse and broke your leg or arm, this insurance will pay all your medical bills.)

Horse death (also known as “mortality”) – this type of insurance protects horse owner from a death of a horse. Usually this type of insurance is bought by people with valuable horses.

Permanent Loss of Use – this type of insurance protects horse that could survive a serious injury or illness but is unable to continue to perform its function. For this type of insurance you need to specify and inform you insurance company or insurance broker before purchasing horse insurance. (For example use your horse for show jumping, riding, competition and etc.)

Theft – this type of insurance protects your horse from being stolen. Usually this insurance is purchased by people who have really valuable horse that they use for horse show, competition, horse jumping.

Trailer – this type of insurance protects your trailer that you use for transportation of a horse from damage.
You can choose what type of insurance cover you want and what will suit you better. A person that purchases “horse insurance” must check carefully the conditions under which the policy will pay out and when under which conditions at which it won’t pay out. You need to find out what amount you are entitled to be paid out and what things would reduce the amount that would be paid out to you.

Horse and rider insurance is really important and should be bought by any one who owns a horse. This insurance will help you in case of any damage either to horse or rider. People have to consider horse insurance when they buy a horse.

The main benefits that you will get from buying a horse and rider insurance are:

• You will protect the money that you have invested (For example horse, horse trailer, saddle and etc.)
• You will protect yourself from an accident (For example personal accident, third party injury or damage)
• You will protect yourself from large veterinary bills
• In case of an unplanned or unexpected accident or damage you will receive a sum of money or your insurance company will pay for damage caused.

Usually all insurance companies customize the insurance for horse and rider. Different horses have different risks and prices for insurance differentiate because of it. Insurance broker or insurance company are usually take in count the horse age, cost of a horse, health of a horse before they give exact figure on horse insurance policy.

Most of the insurance companies have on their website an online quotation that can show you the price of you insurance. When doing insurance quotation online you can see what things will suit you better and what will not. It is usually cheaper to get two different types of insurances into one insurance policy rather having to different type of insurances (For example it would be a lot cheaper to insure yourself from “Personal Accident” and “Horse insurance” in one policy rather insure yourself from “Personal Accident” under one insurance policy and “Horse insurance” under other policy.)

Renewable Energy

We receive energy from different “energy sources”. Some things like coal, gas, oil, are called as a non-renewable energy. The renewable energy is that energy which is always available and can be used always as a source of energy such as wind.

Non-renewable energy – this is an energy that is provided by things that have limited amount of life. This type of energy is polluting the environment with toxins and other components.

Renewable energy – is an energy that is coming from natural resources such as wind, sunlight, rain, geothermal heat. Renewable energy replaces conventional fuels in different areas like power generation, hot water, transport fuels and rural energy services. Power generation from renewable energy contains in total 18% of total electricity provided world wide. Renewable energy is known as an infinite energy because it depends on the energy of infinite source.

Renewable energy is also called as a clean energy because it does not produce by-products which are harmful to the environment. There are no toxins or pollutants to the environment hence the title “green energy”.  In the past decade we are more socially concious and environmentally aware with a desire to keep this world cleaner.

The most common forms of renewable energy today that are used are:

Wind power – Wind is the main component in running “Wind Turbines”. Nowadays the Wind Turbines provide from 600 Kw to 5 Mw of power and they become the most common use for commercial use, the power of turbine is managed by the wind speed, so if wind speed increases then the power of output increases. The Wind Turbines are usually installed in places where is the possibility of having a strong wind. Wind power is one of the fastest growing renewable energy sectors. Wind energy has overall positive impact on the environment because there are no emissions involved.

Hydro-power – Water is like wind and it can provide a certain amount of energy. The power is derived from the force of moving water which can be used for good purposes. It was used for many hundreds of years in forms of waterwheels and mills. Hydro-power is very important nowadays and it is supplying 20% of world’s electricity.

There are currently 3 main forms of water energy:

1. Hydroelectric
2. Micro Hydro
3. Run of the River Hydroelectricity

Solar energy – is the energy that is derived from the sun, sunlight through the form of solar radiation. Solar technologies are broadly characterised as either passive or active solar depending on the way they capture and distribute solar energy. Mostly solar energy is used for houses to keep hot water.

Biomass – is a renewable energy because it contains energy that is coming from sun. Through the use of photosynthesis, plants capture the sun’s energy. When the plant(s) is burned, they release a certain amount of energy that they contain.

Bio-fuel – is containing a wide range of fuels that are derived from biomass. It covers solid biomass, various biogases and liquid fuels.

Geothermal energy – is the energy that is gathered by trapping the heat from the earth itself. There are three types of power plants that are used to generated energy are: dry steam, flash, binary.

Advantages of Renewable Energy – the main advantage of the renewable energy is that it will never run out and it is renewable. The second advantage is that renewable energy is “green” and “environmentally green”.

Disadvantages of Renewable energy – is an energy that is using natural resources to provide energy. It will be hard to make sure that energy will be always provided.

• Solar – the solar panels are very expensive and not every householder will be able to install them. Solar panels will suit not every country because there are different climates.
• Wind – the “Wind Turbines” are extremely expensive. The wind will not always be blowing so the wind turbines are seen as part of a larger plan.
• Tides – barrages across rivers are more expensive to build and disrupt shipping.
•  Geothermal – hard to drill two or three kilometres down into the earth.

The renewable energy in Ireland has increase in dramatically. There was only 4.8% of renewable energy produced in Ireland but in 2008 the number increased until 11.7%. The main producer of renewable energy  is China.

Renewable energy is often seen and known as a best way to deal with global warming and climate change. The more renewable energy people use the less fossil fuel they burn, the less fossil fuel is burned means less of carbon dioxide produced by having smaller impact on climate change.

CannonBall Run Ireland

Cannonball Run in Ireland was founded by Alan Bannon. He was taking part in European road trip that was full of thrills and left him with great memories. Alan likes super cars and he is a big fan of powerful cars, so he decided to create an Irish version of a Cannonball Run.

The first Cannonball run in Ireland was in 2009. At that time the economy crashed and there was recession. The organiser was scared that this fact will affect of doing the event. But recession didn’t affect people with super cars. There was plenty of people attending event that year. For last couple of years there were many expensive and stunning cars attending while there were also some “less” attention but nonetheless fabulous cars attending this event as well. Cannonball Run is all about gathering those who appreciated cars together. The event contains 3 days of relaxing and driving into different counties in Ireland.

Cannonball Run is a fundraising event for charity. The drivers of a super cars dress up as different movie characters.

During this event public people get a chance to see really expensive and exotic cars that they wouldn’t see on everyday basis. Drivers of the super cars are very friendly and they are more than happy to talk to the public people and tell them about the car that they have.

In 2009 many car enthusiasts attended the event and gave money to charity. The first pit stop that the drivers made was in Barretstown which showed where their money was going and the kind of joy children get from this charity. The second pit stop was made in Kinsale for a well deserved lunch. For the last day the cannonballer’s went to Killarney where they partied for a whole night and had a barbeque.

In 2010 there were over 120 ofIreland’s best cars that attended the event. Some of the cars were Ferrari, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini and etc. They went through 10 counties to raise money for the Paul Newman charity accompanied by a Garda convoy. The first visit was to Donegal following on toWestportfor a street festival. On Saturday all drivers went to see Ashford castle and then on toGalway. On the last day of the event the drivers of super cars travelled toCorkwhere they celebrated the end of the event with fireworks.

There is also a Cannonball runEurope. This event started in 2002 and it is an annual event. The drivers clock up 2500 miles in six days. To enter the Cannonball Run Europe you must invest 6250 pounds and it includes one car and two people, all sea crossings, 5* accommodations at all destinations, breakfasts, evening meals, open pit-lane world class track day, parties every night, final night awards party.

All cannonball runs are charity fundraisers offering those involved an opportunity to have fun and meet new, like-minded friends.

5 Steps to make a Sale

Are you about to start up your own business? Wexford Insurances are here to help. We offer Start up Business Insurance packages from a qualified team who are ready to provide you with the security of professional advice.

For those in retail we have put together a Selling Guide below which we hope you will find useful.

The Steps in the Personal Selling Process.

Personal Selling is defined as “personal presentation by the firm’s sales force for the purpose of making sales and building customer relationships. Personal selling is paid personal communication that attempts to inform customers and persuade them to purchase products or services.”  The personal selling process allows marketers the greatest freedom to adjust a message to satisfy a customer’s needs and wants. Personal selling allows the marketer or the seller to communicate directly with the customer and listen to his or her concerns, answer specific questions, provide additional information, inform, persuade, and possibly even recommend other products or services.
Selling is at the core of almost every business. In most of the cases, you have to sell something for your business, to make money and to keep company alive. This is the reason why the Personal Selling Process is so important. This process has seven steps that every sales person should go through in order to be efficient and effective at doing sales.

1. Prospecting – Is the first step in personal selling that is helping a sales person to find customers that will buy your products or services. Not every customer will be able to buy your products or services. Usually, sales people were expected to find their own prospects/customers. Company has to get people interested about their services/products.

2. Approaching the customer – The approach usually takes the first minutes of a sale. The approach includes opening small talk, the handshake, eye contact, and generally making a good initial impression. As always the first impression is really important and it is important to recognize the potential customer’s social style. If customer is asking you for facts or opinions, then you should give those facts and opinions and never ignore questions or refuse to the customer.

3. Making the Sales Presentation – It is the most important step in this process. This step is also known as the sales pitch. In this step you show and explain to the customer the advantages of the products and how it is going to benefit the customer if they will purchase these products from you. If customer is going to like the presentation that you gave them then they will seriously consider in purchasing your products. The preparation for presentation should be done before giving the presentation. If a sales person doesn’t prepare for the presentation then there is a big chance that the customer will not purchase the product because presentation was done poorly. Presentations plays big role that makes up customers mind, about purchasing your company’s product or not to.

4. Closing the Sale – When the sales person is finished selling the product they must close the sale.  When closing up the sale you may simply ask some of the questions like:

i.            Alternative close – Would you like the purple or the white one?

ii.            Direct Close – Are you ready to place an order?

iii.            Cautious close – Is there anything else you would like me to cover before we complete the paperwork?

Clearly, the sales person will need to decide which closing questions to use based on the mood of the meeting and its appropriateness to the situation. When a sales person is closing sale don’t forget to mention some of your other products or services that your company has produced because sometimes people may be looking for the products or services that you might have. There is a big chance that they will purchase it from you because you satisfied their needs and wants. When company will close sale with the sports organizations they could mention what other products they produce maybe they will need this kind of products in future.

5. Follow up – After the product is delivered to the customer the sales person should contact with the customer and ask them “Are they happy with the product they have purchased?” and “Is there any problems with that product?” Sales person reputation maybe enhanced because they are showing that they care about the customer. If there is any problem with the product sales person must deal with it and try to keep the customer satisfied.
The satisfaction of the customer will lead to:

i.            Repeat business – If the customer is satisfied with the purchase then they will buy the product again from the same source because they got mutual respect, loyalty and trust.

ii.            Recommendations – If the customer is satisfied with their purchase made from you then they will be more than happy to recommend your product to other potential customers.
